Campaign Ads July 10, 2008

It’s an election year so things are getting heated.  The campaign ads are what bother me the most.  Have you ever watched them and wondered why candidates spend so much time attacking their opponent?  Have you ever wondered why it never even seems to occur to a candidate to highlight themselves?

If I could make one rule, it would be this:  NO NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN ADS!

I am completely serious about this.  If you are running for the President of the United States of America and cannot manage to come up with a single positive attribute about yourself that qualifies you for this position, you are not qualified to be the President.

If you were in a job interview and couldn’t say anything positive about yourself, you wouldn’t get the job.

I, for one (and I like to think that I’m not alone on this), would like to hear what would make  you the perfect candidate for the job….NOT what makes the opponent unsuitable for the position.

This has been going on for years and isn’t likely to stop anytime in the near future.  I would just like to see Obama and McCain speak to their strengths a little bit more than the other’s weaknesses.
