My sister passed along this link to me today.  Knit-A-Square.com

This organization puts together knit squares to make blankets for children in South Africa.  I will make a few.  If anyone wants to help and send them all together, let me know.

Hi Karen and Sarah

Hope you did get around to knitting a few squares. I have just found your comments on Google – amazing really.

They are rolling in now – nearly 6000 so far. Only 424 000 to go!

Thanks for posting this.

I am square knitting, having been stuck at home for the past 5 weeks with a broken ankle & broken leg (luckily it’s all confined to the same leg!) and running out of books to read. Then a friend suggested I knit a square! I’ve been meaning to do this for years. So, all I need to do is scrounge up some needles & I’ve plenty of lovely warm wool. From now on I’ll make up for lost time. It’s such a good cause!

Hope your leg is better now Pam, and that you got some needles and wool together.

Amazing that there were 6000 squares on May 5 and now there are just over 28000!
